Updating linked Excel 2007 spreadsheets in Word 2007

Had a customer recently who was having trouble getting linked excel spreadsheets to update in Word 2007, despite checking all the various autoupdate options.  The quick fix was to hit Control+A to select the entire document, and then press F9 to update the links.  That’s it!
